Richard has been making albums since the invention of the tape recorder but he finally decided to make a record people would actually want to hear. A Christmas record! In fact, he made two of them. The first one “Anticipating Christmas” is a collection of seasonal standards and new originals. He does a killer cover of “Blue Christmas” that just happens to have McLean playing killer keyboards on.

The second CD – “It’s Christmas Time” is a kid’s record featuring Knechtel’s alter-ego Dickie Bird.
Dickie Bird is the stage name adopted by Richard for his children’s shows. He has entertained family audiences since 1982 performing 150 –200 dates a year. A skilled musician, magician and songwriter, Dickie Bird quickly forms a bond with his young audience and delights them every time out! Christmas is for kids and that spirit is wonderfully captured on this album. In fact some adults have told us they like this better than the “grown-up” one. Upbeat and fast-paced, it is music that will be treasured throughout Yuletide seasons for years to come.
